The Swiss army triplet is a flam, a tap with the same hand, and a single with the other: lR R L. It sounds like a flam accent but is played with different sticking.
Sticking
lR R L
Capital letters are main notes. Small letters are grace notes played just before the main note.
How to practice it
Play the main notes alone first, without grace notes.
Add the grace notes, keeping them low and quiet, about an inch off the head.
Speed up only when every flam sounds like one thick note, not two.
The right hand plays the flam and the tap after it. Let the stick rebound for the tap.
Where you will use it
It is a faster, easier sticking for triplet flam passages and works well for triplet fills.
