Part 3 · Rudiments · Chapter 45
You don’t need all forty rudiments every day. This routine covers the main families in about ten minutes. Use the metronome and start slow.
| TIME | WHAT TO PLAY |
|---|---|
| 2 min | Single strokes (Chapter 27), both hands leading. |
| 2 min | Double strokes (Chapter 28). |
| 2 min | Paradiddles (Chapter 29). |
| 2 min | Flam taps or flam accents (Chapters 33–34). |
| 2 min | Five- and nine-stroke rolls (Chapters 38 and 40). |
Singles, doubles and paradiddles in one exercise.
Pick two or three different rudiments each week to add to the routine. By the end of a few months you will have played them all.
